Our enhanced security protects your account by reviewing activity during the approval process. We may attempt to contact you if a transaction falls outside of your normal spending pattern. In some instances, you may be declined at the merchant if activity is considered suspicious.

If you will be traveling, let us know the dates and area of travel. Give us a call at (434) 528-9016 or (800) 335-0069 during regular business hours and we’ll make a note on your account. This information helps to avoid transaction denials.

1. Provide the beginning and ending date of travel.
We can add work and personal travel dates to each of the debit and credit cards on your account. Adding travel dates will help verify that a transaction outside your home state, or outside your normal spending patterns, is legitimate. Even so, denials are still possible.

2. Update your phone numbers.
We need current phone numbers on your account so our fraud department can contact you to verify transactions, if necessary. Let us know if your cell phone is best number to reach you after hours and on weekends so we can list that as your primary contact.

3. Tell us each country you will visit.
If you will be traveling out of the country, we need to know each country you will visit – not the continent or cities. (Include countries that you may visit for airport layovers.)

4. Use your PIN whenever possible.
To make denials less frequent, use your PIN number when possible. Using your PIN helps verify that you are making your transactions.
