Money Markets

Your Community Credit Union offers four types of money market accounts to meet your short to medium-term savings and investment needs.

  • Access your account at any ATM or online 24/7!
  • For your convenience, checks may be ordered for all Money Market accounts.
  • Withdrawals are limited to six per month with a maximum of three by check to a third party

Four Money Markets to pick from the higher the balance the higher the rate!

  • Money Market Savings -minimum balance of $500
  • Money Market Gold -minimum balance of $2,500
  • Money Market Preferred -minimum balance of $10,000
  • Money Market Platinum- minimum balance of $25,000

Individual Retirement Plans (IRA)

Roth IRA

More incentives to boost your retirement savings and provides more ways to use your nest egg.

  • Pre-taxed, which means deposits can be withdrawn at any time
  • Earnings can be withdrawn tax free and penalty free if the account has been open for 5 years and one of the following reasons apply: the owner is age 59 1/2 , the owner is disabled, the owner is deceased, or the funds are for a first time home purchase
  • Age and income limits are more flexible than those found on Traditional IRAs

Traditional IRA

A retirement plan that has been in existence since 1975.

  • Save money up to age 70 1/2 to supplement income after retirement
  • Taxed when withdrawn, typically at a lower rate than during employment years
  • Early withdrawals are allowed for first-time home purchases or educational expenses

Coverdell Savings Account

An opportunity for parents and grandparents to save for their children’s or grandchildren’s education.

  • Money can be transferred from one child to another in the same family
  • Contributions can be made until the child reaches age 18
  • Money withdrawn must be used for education expenses for the designated child before age 30. Exceptions may apply.

CVFCU charges no maintenance fees for IRAs.
